On Sunday, the plan was to rest and then begin my week strong and get my workout in. Over the past few years, I’ve been concerned with how inconsistent I’ve been with health and fitness. I suppose that the reason I am now is that I am older. I can feel my body aging. When I was in HS I used to wake up and go. Nowadays I need to wake up and try to move my joints around before stepping foot off my bed. If I don’t do this, my feet ache, my lower back aches, and sometimes I can even pull a neck muscle.

There is no morning (now) that I don’t have to “be careful”. So exciting!

So, anyways, yesterday didn’t go as planned. I woke up early and thought I’d drink my coffee and get a workout in. Well, spent the day doing minimal work and watching Netflix. Then I ate breakfast. That is where things went plop. See, I’ve been also noticing that when I eat early I then tend to use up all my energy digesting food. My body will not do it normally. Although, I have noticed this happens when I eat carbs with my food early, midday, or at dinner. I have not gone to see a doctor about this, which I should, but I think I may have something wrong with how my body processes sugar. I will make sure to continue the process of being present and trying to understand my body.

Today is a rainy day. I don’t feel depressed or sluggish. I had a protein shake and pureed my veggie soup so that I could help my body with the process of digesting. It actually helps a lot when I do that. I have been cooking veggie soup since the beginning of October and I do see how it has helped me to stay full and go to the bathroom more often than if I ate solids. It helps that it is vegan, I go buy veggies like zucchini, carrots, potatoes, celery (although these are a bit stringy they make the stew taste good), and cabbage, sometimes I add corn cobs, but I don’t puree those. The soup is really good. I use a veggie bouillon for taste as well as garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Best veggie soup ever! Sometimes I will also add quinoa or rice. It overcooks so it is very soft and easy to puree with the veggies.

So far the day isn’t so blah even if it looks like it is outside. It is raining, I have dance class tonight at 6pm and I am trying to get my rowing in as well as my kettlebell exercise in today. No excuses!
